That's a better plan. SQL Sever's performance drops when you insert the
images in binary.
Just store the link to the file in SQL.

I'm using images myself and instead of inserting the image in the
database,
I insert the file name, and I upload the image on a specific directory.

full url in the databse.. images/dir/dir/imagename.jpg that way i dont
have to hard code anything, and the owner of the site can change it.
just my 2cents, both ways work
