Hi

I desperately need help with installing SQL server 7.0 or 2000 enterprise .

Once when i installed sql server 7 it would let me select records from default tables but will not let me create tables.  Then I
uninstalled it and tried to install it again and now it give me an error at login into query analyzer -- [Microsoft ][ODBC SQL
server Driver][Shared Memory]SQL server does not exist.  I tried to install sql server 2000 enterprise version but its not
compatible with win xp pro OS, and if i just install client components it gives me the above error as well.  Any clue?????Any help
would be appreciated

On WindowsXP Pro, you can only install:

a) MSDE
b) SQL Server Personal Edition
c) SQL Server Desktop Edition
d) SQL Server Developer Edition
(there are a few names because some changes where made between SQL Server 7
names and SQL Server 2000 names).

You can /not/ install SQL Server Standard, or SQL Server Enterprise.

Please tell us which edition you are attempting to install on your machine.

Cheers
Ken
