asp_discuss thread: Microsoft Remote Scripting and ASP Page Objects

Message #1 by "Robert Blatchford" <robert.blatchford@f...> on Wed, 16 May 2001 15:37:17
I wonder if anybody can clear up some confusion for me. I have come across

a Microsoft technology called Remote Scripting, this is closely linked to

Visual Interdev DTC (Design Time Controls), and ASP Page Objects.

Page Objects and Remote Scripting appear to be great. In Microsoft?s own

words ?With remote scripting, developers can now create seamless,

interactive Web applications in which the browser can call scripts on the

server without reloading the Web page?. Further, page objects provide a

clean way to develop object based ASP script code, and an alternative

method to hold ASP session state. Sounds great, yet none of the WROX books

mentions this technology and no one appears to be using it.

Can anyone explain why this technology is not more widely used and

promoted.
