I'm a VB Oracle database programmer who wants to (actually needs to) learn 
ASP. Do you think I should learn ASP or directly try out ASP.NET ?

   ASP is older than ASP.NET.
  If I were your I would learn ASP.NET.

If your server can run ASP.NET

I would definetly reccomend .NET

You can get things done much faster and it is easier to learn
.NET without having previously used classic ASP as the two
are so different, much more than I expected
