Greetings,

Well, after I installed successfully, the Internet Information Services (IIS), I am trying to set it up with Windows
2000. But, I can not do the set up and testing the IIS.

I am just wondering if you have experience with IIS using Windows 2000.
I would appreciate any assistance! ME

Mahmoud,

I used to have w2k professional edition running IIS without any
problems.

What exactly is your problem?

Two things to look in this situation:

1) your browser can browser any site. This is normally not the problem
but
if you've got a proxy, don't forget to set an option in this way:
Internet Option > Connections (tag) > Lan Setting (button) >
(enable)
Bypass proxy server for local address.

2) make sure your Web service is activated.

Hi,

Browse to the following path:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot

If you installed IIS correctly, you should see some contents here.

If you don't, you should re-install IIS and check for any error
messages.

If there are none, when you browse to http://localhost you should see a
lot of stuff from Microsoft about ASP and other stuff.

Try this and let me know.

Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services
Look for "World Wide Web Publishing Service".
Start it if it's not and also make its startup type as automatic.
