Hi everyone,
Does anybody know of any reviews or non-biased documentation on Blueworld
Lasso compared to ASP?
I'm currently developing for ASP, but the institution I work at is working
heavily with Blueworld Lasso. I'd like to continue working with ASP, but
I've been hearing rumors that Lasso "outperforms" ASP. So I need some
advice from any of you experts.
Here's some background about our needs for where I work:
I work for an community college with about 30,000 students attending every
semester. Load on the servers are significant. Currently, all of the web
databases involving classes and staff information are stored in FileMaker
Pro 5 databases with Lasso working as the middleware for retreiving data.
Plans are to upgrade the databases to SQL Server, but keep Lasso to serve
that data on the web.
First of all, do any of you see any performance issues by using Lasso (on
a Mac or PC Server) to handle those databases? (Would ASP handle the job
more efficiently?)
Second, do any of you have any issues with regard to using Lasso? (i.e.
security issues - since security is of the highest priority in dealing
with student records).
I appreciate any advice you can give!
