When users are asking for an excel report they are being prompted to enter a
password. I have a page that allows the user to click on an Excel icon and
the page runs again, this time with the mime type set to excel, but the
users are being prompted for an account. If they cancel they still get the
report. Must be some permission somewhere, any suggestions?

This is what I have posted on my website.
(New identified problem!!) If your computer is loaded with Microsoft
Office2000, it is recommended that you load Service Release 1 (SR-1) at a
minimum. This service release addresses a bug experienced while viewing
office2000 documents i.e. Word2000 on the web while using Internet Explorer.
Symptoms exhibited are re-prompts for login and passwords while trying to
view Word documents or Excel spreadsheets via the web or failure to view any
office document where collaboration is enabled or disabled. You may obtain
SR-1 for Office 2000 from the following website:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/details/SR1.htm
HOPE THIS HELPS.....
