I think they are generated numbers that get made during installation of IIS.

It varies from machine to machine...... The only way to really know what it

is, is to set it yourslef but then you are opening yourself up for many

problems.

One of the IIS created package uses WARM_xxx, I changed to use other

account. But when I want to change it back to IWARM_xxx, where can I find

its password?

You got me. I guess its asking you for the password for that account while

you are trying to assign it to a package correct? The only way I can think

of to recover the password is to actually open user manager or the MMC and

change the password yourself to one YOU know. Then you have to be sure that

the new password is input anywhere the account is used AND is not replicated

across the website. There should not be much of those but you never know.

To do what I've mentioned You would have to go to the MMC and right click on

your default website, then select the directory security tab, then select to

edit the authentication control, then select to edit the anonymous access

properties, then uncheck the "allow IIS to control password" check box, then

change the password to one that you would like. Then pray it all works well

after you do this!!!!!!

Good Luck...........

I do know a hacker tool that will figure out the password. It would take a

few days to a week to break it.

It's called L0phtcrack for starters

Secondly, if you're an administrator (and I'd assume that you would be to be

changing setting in the IIS MMC), you can recover the hashes from a SAM (eg

by creating a repair disk) - use pwdump2 - you'll have a 100% chance of

recovering it via brute force if you wait long enough - that's what bruce

force is, trying all possible combinations.

I'm not a Administrator ... I really do not use many tools I have used

L0Phatcrack on about 10 or so servers I have had an average of 70% passwords

cracked .. I am just talking from my experience with it... that is all ...

as for brute force it is running on a dictionary, and algorithms most of the

time ... at least that is what I have seen... but thank you for the info ..

for the person that need that information
