asp_web_howto thread: Query re FrontPage 98

Message #1 by "Pat Waddington" <paw@s...> on Wed, 24 Oct 2001 23:11:23 +0100
I know this is not a strictly ASP question, but the Microsoft web site

has provided no answer.

Can anyone tell me how to turn the colour-coding of HTML back on in FP

Editor?

Thanks

Hey frontpage is a good editor,it just needs a bit of understanding :)

in FP2k - Open a page, go to tools/page options, select the tab color

coding, click 'show color coding'.

Yeah, its just toomany times it messes up my ASP script..

I like visual interdev, just since I have been using it all the time..

But it seems like a waste cause I only use tht code complete features

(and text editor) of it.

Another cheap program I like is mps html gate (mps.uoe.org) maybe just

because it was developed by a 18year old.. But anyway..

I would have to say that the best free editor out on there right now is 1st

page 2000 http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage/ this does it all, CF, ASP HTLM,

JavaScript ect... Give it a try, I have been recommending it to customers

with out a lot of $$$.

Daniel you are a star!

I know everyone knocks FP, and I only use it to save time in putting the

basic HTML and page layout together -I do enough typing as it is :-) !

I usually work in HTML view anyway stuffing in my VBScript and

Javascript,

but I do find that the colour coding is a great help in locating missing

delimiters etc. and it's handy being able to switch straight to the

browser

with one click.

Many thanks

Pat
