asp_web_howto thread: TCP Messaging

Message #1 by "Marcelo" <foros@f...> on Thu, 25 Oct 2001 23:29:32 -0300

Anybody knows about licensing for private use of MSN Messenger Api?

Or any free component or way to make TCP messaging in a VPN or public

Network.

Thanks

Marcelo

You can write your TCP messagin application using Winsock API. It

works well and is free too as long as you have licensed Visual Basic

or C++

I am using Windows 2000 and it is installed there. Go to Project

>Components and then choose Microsoft Winsock COntrol (version 6 in my

PC). The file name is \system32\mswinsck.ocx

Maybe I send you the OCX file. If you need it email me at

irfan@i... and I will send you. Or try searching from MSDN, you

may find it.

I am using Windows 2000 Pro, and my VB version is Enterprise with SP

5. During installation I chose to install additional ActiveX Controls.
