Does anyone know how to do this with automation and pull the text into a

variable?

There are certain third-party components you can purchase that let you do

just this...it's basically on-the-fly OCR, as a scanning program like

OmniPage would use.   Xerox has an app such as this built into its Digital

Document Center platform.
