Can anyone point me to some good resources on ASP and web-server security
best-practices?

Oddly enough, I'd take a gander over at microsoft...
If you're looking for a more generic outlook (i.e. -
defensive coding practices, etc.), then in addition
to microsoft you can probably find some useful info
at http://www.owasp.org (Open Web Application Security
Project)
HTH,
Jack

Thanks Jack,
That is odd, but maybe not on second thought, since they recently showed
their ability to turn on-a-dime again and shifted their focus to security.
OWASP looks like a good site indeed.
I'd also be interested if anyone has any books to recommend.
What about these books I see on the shelves like "Tricks Hackers Use" or
something like that?
Has anyone read one of these that was worth reading, or any other good
books?

Sorry I didn't think to mention this in my previous post.
Probably the best book I've read on hacking is the book
"CounterHack" by Ed Skoudis.
It was just published last fall, so is fairly up to date
in terms of describing the roots of various hacking,
virus and worm techniques. I found it to be an excellent
read.
