I am also getting this message. I loaded the project to C:\wrox.  Web 
shared it.
When I tried to open the sln file, it told me it was unable to get the 
project file from the web server.

I have other .net projects  working fine.

Your other message on this board said that if the bin directory is empty 
(or wrong permissions), then it would fail.
How can I load the project, if I can open the web???

Found the problem. Security settings for the VS Developers group was not 
set correctly, hence the id logged on did not have the correct rights to 
the directories...
