Hi Vickie,
I'm still working with ASP 3.0 w/VBScript in my full-time job (running
online operations for a Guam's broadcast media company), but private
consulting work and indepdent research is all .NET. Unfortunately, the
former dominates the latter, and it's hard to get clients to buy into the
new platform, due to:
(1) the fact that it's still in beta
(2) the negative economy
(3) the vast majority of enterprise-level companies out here run legacy
systems (mainly RPG-based apps or NT4 LANs), with very few real Internet
apps; this is impacted heavily by the aforementioned factors
I'm trying to generate interest in .NET through user groups, training,
speaking, etc, recommending books, the TV segment on tech I host, but it's
a very uphill climb.
If you need more feedback, e-mail me at jason@k...
