Hi,
just wondering, what are some of the formal methods of testing ecommerce
web sites?? Preferebly something that would show proper testing results as
well.

If its a Windows platform then try Microsofts web
application stress tool.

Testing an ecommerce app is no different than testing any other
software.

Hi Allan,
Im my opinion, an e-commerce site is best tested by measuring its threshhold
for being able to handle customer orders. This would be the main reason for
its existence, so stress-testing it to see how it stood up in heavy traffic
loads with complex transactions would yield the best results. That's the
technical part.
The more human aspect of an e-commerce site would be the site's business
model's ability to handle actions like custom returns, generate customer
loyalty, and be pleasent to do business with.
