Whats da aim of ASP+ ?!

U need to upgrade ur webserver to 2000 and iis5!

u need to upgrade ur development system to be 2000

with support for asp+!

i think that isnt ASP+ but ASP$ or asp plus new

server, new tools, new working system , etcc , etc ,

etccc.

vs7 will only be out next year, better to wait for

asp4 and upgrade all ma system dat time!

Well, you need Win 2K and IIS 5 even to run ASP 3.0.

True: there's a lot of hype around about ASP+, but just because it's hype

doesn't mean it isn't justified hype.

Furthermore...

There's never going to be an ASP 4.0 - this is it: you can use either ASP+

or last century's technology, take you pick. To be fair on .NET, whilst they

ask a lot for much of their software, most of their web publishing stuff is

free-free, and always has been. Furthermore, ASP+ represents a complete

overhaul of the ASP technologies and, _if_ it meets it's goals, will be a

revolution in server-side publishing.

The final release of ASP+ will run on _all_ windows platforms. Because we

have a managed runtime, it will work on Windows 95, 98, NT etc. There is

also no reason why one day it couldn't run on UNIX etc, assuming you only

used a subset of the .NET class library.

It does meet its goal :)
