aspx thread: Links for ADO+ books!

Message #1 by "Anders Lundholm" <lundholm@s...> on Sat, 4 Nov 2000 16:25:34 +0100
Hello people!

I'm beginning to feel the need for a better documentation on ADO+ than the

current one shipped with the .NET beta. I've tried to search the web for

ADO+ books (WROX etc.) without luck.

If you have any idea on existing or near future releases, please post a link

or two. I guess other than me on this list have had the same thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

From another list I am on:

http://www.dotnetbooks.com/

seems to be a good source for latest and soon to be published books and

magazines. Pretty focused site.

The reason there aren't any specific ADO+ books is that ADO+ is still an

alpha product, and therefore there is possibility of change before release.

Beta 1 (due soon) will be more stable in terms of feature set, and the

documentation will be far better.

If you find any, I'll be happy to document them on a new web site I'm

working on named aspxdevelopers.net

More to follow,

I'm just doing some more updating of my links page, and I've come across

these on-line articles about ADO+:

http://askasp-plus.com/articles.asp?ArtID=55 ... Just an "Introduction to

ADO+", but ASKASP+ is a new site. It may be worth keeping an eye on to see

what new material materialises there.

You might aslso want to watch this site:

http://www.technicallead.com/ado/articles/ado_datasets_recordsets_on_steroids.asp

http://www.technicallead.com/ado/articles/managed_providers.asp

http://www.technicallead.com/ado/articles/simple_data_binding.asp

... seems to be aiming itself outside of the script-kiddies market.

There's some other ADO+ stuff on the links page already and the updated

links page will probably go up on the site in its usual rough-and-ready

form later today: http://p2p.wrox.com/topis/ASPLinks/ASPLinks.htm

You might want to look at what Rob Taylor's got at his (I think) new site

"Plusasp", about ADO+/ADO.NET: http://plusasp.com/plusdb/

<note>

I've been looking for links again. You might want tosee what else is to be

found on the page (http://p2p.wrox.com/topics/asplinks/asplinks.htm)> I

can only assume Rob's newsagent delivers his copy of MSDN Magazine before

all ours does :-).
