aspx thread: Capabilities of .Net Web Services

Message #1 by "Uma M" <maheswarim@c...> on Mon, 2 Apr 2001 09:47:23 +0530

hi all,

I have a basic doubt on the capabilities of .Net Web Services.

Here is that...

Assume that the client's m/c has only an O.S and a browser.

Now the client wants to use MS-Word for some hours, from his m/c.

(He may do anything, like print, save etc., as if he is

working with Word installed in his own m/c on that time)

Can a .Net Web Service be used in this scenario??

Thanx & Regards,

Uma

No.

Web services do NOT try to solve this problem.

Web services are to enable a protocol based (and thus system and

language independant) mechanism to have a program (or website) use

services exposed by another website.
