Wrong.
IIS 5.0 is ONLY available on Windows 2000.
As ASP.NET also runs under Windows NT, the requirement has to be max.
IIS 4.0
RTFM.

WRONG. IIS4 and NT4 are not going to be supported.
So, Dave was right :)

Hello!
I just now working with Beta1 of .NET Framework and with ASP.NET on
WinNT4.0/IIS4, and there is no
problem with this.
Have you any information that NT4/IIS4 will not be supported with Beta2
or
with production release
of .NET Framework (ASP.NET)?
Thanks.
Slavo.

I cant officially comment, but I can say that a Microsoft guy posted on the
dotnet mailing list and said NT4 would not be supported for v1. I'm
guessing the driving goal is to get the product out. NT4 is not a good
platform for web development in my view. All the projects I've seen running
on NT4/IIS4 have suffered for various reasons I cant discuss.
So, my advice is go for Windows 2000. It's a better operating system, IIS5
is much better than IIS4, and ASP.NET will be there from day one.
HTH,
Rich..

To make it full -
Goto XP once Beta 2 of dotNET is out - that's the future, and you don't
want to learn with old equipment.

Hello!
winXP is in non-public beta right now, right?
Is there any way to get winXP now or when beta2 of .NET Framework will out?
And you mean winXP Pro or winXP Server (official name should be
"Windows2002" for winXP Server)?
Thanks,
Slavo.
