Daniel,

If you didn't write any of those books, your message is SPAM.

Even if you did write all of them, it would be SPAM.

Those books have been published for a fairly long while.

Their availability isn't even news...

You should be a bit more discreet when spamming.

Juan, I will respond to this only because you are misinformed about the

books. All three of these books are less than a week old, since they are

all based on Beta 2. They actually debuted here at VBITS in New York. I

know this since I am an author for the publisher myself, and because no

publisher could sell books based on Beta 2 until AFTER it was made official

on Tuesday. There were Beta 1-based versions of these books available, but

they have been updated to the new code for accuracy.

Second, I think it would be doing a disservice to people if they were not

told about Beta 2 books, since almost everything on the shelves is based on

Beta 1 with only a few exceptions.

The fact that you have posted your criticism to my post in each of the lists

it was sent to makes your replies SPAM, since you have said basically the

same thing in each of them.

These lists are here to serve the developer community, and not everyone is

as "well informed" as you are. Besides, there are dozens of posts every day

from people in the lists promoting something thet are selling. I don't see

you criticizing each of them, but for some reason you have chosen me to be

singled out for your critiques. That's fine. If you dislike me though,

keep it "offline".

Dan,

Thank you for straigtening that out. I was confused by Juans comment I wish

he had not made it. I did not see it as spam at all, it is not like you were

selling viagra.

I have bought a lot of the beta 1 books and am very hungry for beta 2 books.

I was at barnes and noble today looking but saw nothing. I will be going

to the dotnetcafe to order them.

All the best

Chuck Baldo

Daniel,

Your message is spam because it is unsolicited and it is commerical in

character.

Whilst this list is devoted to ASP.Net issues:

a) none of the books you have listed is devoted to ASP.Net

b) this list isn't about advertising your products - the one line list

charter is:

<quote>Want to discuss developing ASP.NET web applications?</quote>

Advertising your books has nothing to do with developing anything.

Personally, if I wanted to receive mass mailings about books, I'd sign up

for your newsletter, plus newsletters from amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com

etc

Further, your comment that everyone else is doing it, doesn't excuse your

behaviour.

Cheers

Ken

Who really cares if it was spam or was not spam? When I get a message

that has no interest to me, I hit the delete key. Is it really that big

of a deal, to spend days writing messages back and forth, arguing

whether it was spam or was not?
