Hi Ankur,



Regit.exe is a utility to register DLLs.  When you install the 

Microsoft .Net Framework - "Component Update", you would get this 

installed in c:\winnt and c:\program 

files\Microsoft.Net\Framework\GuidDebug directories.  If you had installed 

Visual Studio.Net, it would successfully install.  However if you have 

uninstalled the Visual Studio.Net or Framework only the c:\program 

files ..directory file gets uninstalled leaving a version problem when you 

try installing yet again.  



Approach for the fix...

1. search for regit.exe in your problem PC

2. If you find there is only regit file available in c:\winnt

3. delete the regit.exe from c:\winnt (don't worry as this gets created 

yet again)

4. Install the .Net Framework again (component update stuff)

5. Install the .Net Visual Studio.  Should be ok.
