I am pleased to announce that ASP.NET V1.0 has been released to
manufacturing and is now available for immediate download from
http://www.asp.net. Please make sure to remove all previous beta
versions of ASP.NET prior to installing the final version.
It has been a long road since the project's inception and a truly
amazing beta process. On behalf of the entire ASP.NET product team I'd
like to thank all of you for the unbelievable enthusiasm and support
that helped sustain us along the way.

I have Beta 2 installed. I'm guessing I'll need to "unistall" it before
installing the "Architect" version? Has anyone un-installed BETA 2 and were
there any complications/recommendations you might want to pass along to
those of us going to the next version?
I appreciate any input you might have before I start.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Yes -- you must completely uninstall Beta2 (both VS.NET and the .NET
Framework) *before* installing any of the final RTM bits. Note also
that the version of VS.NET and the .NET Framework that you use must
match -- in other words you can install VS.NET RTM and .NET Framework
RTM on the same box, but cannot have ASP.NET RTM and VS.NET Beta2 on the
same box.
Hope this helps,
Scott

Hi Chris,
Yes -- you must completely uninstall Beta2 (both VS.NET and the .NET
Framework) *before* installing any of the final RTM bits. Note also
that the version of VS.NET and the .NET Framework that you use must
match -- in other words you can install VS.NET RTM and .NET Framework
RTM on the same box, but cannot have ASP.NET RTM and VS.NET Beta2 on the
same box.
Hope this helps,
Scott

I have Beta 2 installed. I'm guessing I'll need to "unistall" it before
installing the "Architect" version? Has anyone un-installed BETA 2 and
were there any complications/recommendations you might want to pass
along to those of us going to the next version?
I appreciate any input you might have before I start.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
I'm having problems with the uninstall, it's saying I've already got Beta1
installed and to uninstall that before I "uninstall" Beta 2... Strange
really, I had a clean machine to install Beta 2... Guess I'll have to
scratch my machine and start again.
Paul.

I removed Beta 2 (both VS.NET and .NET Framework) from both of my
computers (running Windows XP Pro) without errors. The final release
installed without errors. Everything appears to be working properly.
I do have one peculiar problem. When I set the help files to display
externally on the user profile page, there's nothing in the help files.
If I display them internally, they work just fine. If I select the
product documentation from the program menu, they work just fine. I had
the same problem with Beta 2.
