I am pleased to announce that the IBuySpy Store and IBuySpy Portal

Solution Kit Samples have been updated for ASP.NET Version 1.0, and are

now available for download from http://www.asp.net.  These samples are

available both in C# and VB, and for SDK and VS.NET users.  Whitepapers

detailing both samples are also available for download from the site.



As before, all code in the IBuySpy samples can be used freely in your

applications.  Go wild, impress your boss and feel free to claim it as

your own... :-)



There are very few changes to the samples between beta1 and beta2 -- you

can view the release notes at

http://www.asp.net/ibuyspy/releasenotes.aspx.



For those wondering why the long wait -- well, we wanted to make sure

that the installation program helped you install the IBuySpy samples in

the most secure manner, without any database credentials in the

web.config file.  So, in most cases, the installation will be able to

install the samples to run via a Trusted Connection to the database

using the local ASPNET user -- which means no SQL user name or password

is stored in code or config.



There are some environments that are not supported by the automatic

installation program.  For example, running the database on a different

server from ASP.NET is still not supported.  But we made it easier to

complete the configuration of the application manually, so you'll

probably be able to run the IBuySpy samples in this and most other

"advanced" configurations if you complete the configuration manually.
