I am trying to install Visual Studio .Net onto my XP Pro machine. I did
the Windows Component Update then start installing with the .NET CD1. In
the middle of installing, it pops up with a message asking me to
insert "Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect - English Disk 1". But
the one I had in the CD-ROM is CD1. I don't understand which disk it
wants. anyone knows? thanks.

I might be wrong - but is there a directory on the CD that says English -
try pointing the install to that..

Yes,
Your disk is CD1 but the disk label is not proper.
Disk 1 label must be VSENARD1
Disk 2 label must be VSENARD2
Disk 3 label must be VSENARD3
Disk 4 label must be VSENARD4
