Is this even possible? I heard some rumors about .NET framework for Apache
but haven't heard much.
I'd be very interested.

Sam,
I will make the assumption that you are looking for information on
working with ASP.NET specifically on an open source platform. I haven't
seen anything for ASP.NET with Apache materialize yet, but these links might
be of some interest to you:
.NET on FreeBSD (Microsoft):
http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/02/07/SharedSourceCLI/default.aspx
Mono - .NET implementation on Linux and other o/s OSes (Ximian):
http://developer.ximian.com/projects/mono/
And being a big KDE/Qt development fan, C# bindings for Trolltech's Qt
framework: http://qtcsharp.sourceforge.net/
Finally some news on .NET with Apache:

Some of the more relaxed Special Forces troops, who sometimes act like a
lethal version of the Peace Corps, also were antagonized by a recent order
from Bagram to shave their beards and wear at least a semblance of a U.S.
military uniform, instead of a combination of camping gear and Afghan tribal
garb.
