this is the beginners list right?

I followed the 'wizard' and created a dataset.  When I preview it appears 

to

be populated correctly.  

I select it as a datasource for a dropdown control.  The datatextfield

property gives me the right choice and I populate it and the datavalue.

When I run the webpage the drop down is empty, but I know there is data in

the database.

What am I missing?
