aspx_beginners thread: UNABLE TO Install ASP.Net on my NT server - Help!

Message #1 by Harry <Harry@e...> on Sun, 02 Dec 2001 21:24:47 -0800
Only the Beta 2 is available for download at asp.net.

This setup.exe will NOT ALLOW an installation onto any server other than XP

or win2k.

I have been told that the first beta installed and works without a problem

onto an NT server.

So I would like a url where the original beta is available. By any chance

is there one here at wrox.com?

thanks

Harry

Harry,

It would be pointless installing BETA 1 to use ASP.NET

on Windows NT 4.0, there is no future in it. There were

a number of breaking changes going from BETA 1 to BETA 2

and beyond so your code won't be portable to a BETA 2

based Windows 2000 environment.
