I had the same problem as Ali. Reading through these threads I see that
lots of guys have had the same trouble. Thanks for the info regarding 
using aspnet_regiis. I NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS SOLUTION IN 10^6 
YEARS, SO THANKS AGAIN!!! 

Other than the need for running aspnet_regiis, I found info on setting 
up .NET as described in Chapter 1 of Wrox book "Beginning ASP.NET 1.0 
with Visual Basic .NET" by Goode, Kauffman, Miller, Raybould, et al to be 
very complete, understandable, and working for me on WIN XP 
Professional.
