In Chapter 1 where they discuss IIS and .NET setup they discuss setting
folder permissions and creating an ASPNET user. Then menus they refer to,
I am unable to find in my XP Pro, I am familiar with the interfaces and
how to get to the permissions screens on Win2k, but i cant find em in XP.

Right-click on 'My Computer' on the desktop, then choose 'Manage' from
the list. Then expand the node named 'Users and Groups'

I am having the same problem. The ASPNet user is easy enough to find, but
I am looking to set the permissions for the user on the BegASPNET
directory. In my version of XP Pro, it does not have the "Security" tab
when you right-click on the folder and choose Properties. I have looked
all over and haven't been able to find where this could be located. If
someone has the solution to this, please post it.
Thanks!

I found the solution to this. Under folder options on the tools menu in
explorer you have to uncheck "use simple file sharing". Once you do so,
the Security Tab will show up in the Folder Properties .
