Amazing! It works now!   :-D

Apparently, when I uninstalled .NET it didn't remove all of the folders,
so a reinstall just collided with earlier files (I guess)...

I manually removed the Microsoft.NET folder under WINNT, restarted the
computer,
reinstalled ASP.NET and then it worked!

Yeah - its a pain somewhere. Never had any trouble in w2k. Youre running
as administrator, I guess. How about firewall aso? Try disabling and
restart without any. Ill try see if theres anything I can find, but im
not sure theres much.
