I am trying to learn the elements of ASP.NET. Most books and classes 
assume you are familiar with ASP, which I am not. Can you recommend a 
suitable book with complete examples that I can enter?

Another question: what is a "postback"? I have seen this term used many 
times in ASP.NET, but not defined.

If you want to have a good book to start ASP.NET, you can try on Wrox's 
Beginning of ASP USING ##. And, remember, get the latest printing as the 
old version have some problem which hardly figure out if we know nothing 
about it yet. 

I don't know anything about ASP. I started ASP.NET using this book. It is 
good.
