aspx_beginners thread: Asp.Net & XP Home Edition

My home PC runs XP Home. I have purchased Vs.net pro with a view to
creating my own website, on my home pc, and making the site generally
available via a web host.
To this end I am working from books (Wrox) and I am having general "high
level" probs with Example 1, no less.
Could you confirm if XP Home is the limiting factor here. I may have
incorrectly assumed XP Home would be ok as I anticipated using IIS from
the web hosts machine. Maybe I've oversimplified here and XP Home limits
other aspects of using Asp.net too.
any advice much appreciated.

Home does not come with IIS.

I had the same problem... You can't run IIS or PWS on XP Home:

You can't view any dynamic stuff on your machine if it's not running
some kind of web server, IIS or personal web server or whatever they're
calling it in xp if it's not iis.

It must have something like personal web server atleast installable if
not iis I would think.

XP Home does not ship with IIS or PWS. There are hacks you can perform.
