I am sure that many of you out there are owners of our Professional ASP.NET
title and have found it a more than useful compendium, investigating all
aspects of programming with ASP.NET. I can hear you asking yourselves why
Wrox are releasing a 'Special Edition' only 8 months after they released the
first edition? This is a good question. Hopefully this will provide the
answers to all that you are thinking!
Why 'Special Edition'? Well this is easy, we are providing 12 months free
subscription to the electronic version of the book through our new online
library Wroxbase (http://www.wroxbase.com/) which you can access from any
computer for free as of March 2002!
But Why a New Edition? The simple answer is the book is fully revised, it is
now completely compatible with the final release version of the .NET
Framework, and we have taken the opportunity to correct errors found in the
first edition.
"I already own the first edition and don't want to spend $59.99 on the
'Special Edition'"? This is a fair comment and we certainly would not advise
that you do this, the 'Special Edition' is an updated version of the
original, and the bulk of the content is still very much the same. We are
aware that you will still require the RTM compatible code so this will be
provided for you to download from wrox.com for free. We are also providing
the option for you to upgrade to the electronic version of Professional
ASP.NET 1.0 Special Edition on Wroxbase at a discounted price - only $12 a
year.
Should you be new to ASP.NET and want a book to provide the information
needed to build a dynamic, successful enterprise web application then this
is the book to go for! If you already own the book then there are still
benefits, updated downloadable free code as well as discounted subscription
to Wroxbase, which will certainly cut down on that backache from carrying
books around.
Should you have any more questions or queries please feel free to contact
us, we are only too happy to hear what you think support@w...
