Aiden,
Only if you have it track personalized information such as sports
updates or weather or pay bills or schedule events with it. Apparently MS
has dropped all this because the world "just isn't ready". For general
level authentication, to my knowledge, it is free.

Hello,
I was under the impression that you had to pay a fee to Microsoft to use the
Passport system though.

Or there's this whole Microsoft Passport authentication thing that Hotmail
supposively uses. My guess is that you're supposed to be able to login into
Passport once and have it persist across pages or maintain the same
login/password across multiple systems.

Just create a form on your page and post the form to
https://loginnet.passport.com/ppsecure/post.srf. You will need to pass two
form values, i.e. Login and Passwd. You may also need to post other hidden
form fields for this thing to work. Look at Hotmail login page source code
and try. I never tried before, but I am sure it will work.

Subject: [aspx_professional] Opening Inbox directly
I am developing a site where i have also added an email reading features
for, say Hotmail. I want to present a page before my user and have his
hotmail login/password. Now I want this credential to transfer to hotmail so
that the Hotmail Inbox of the user will open right from there. I mean he
shouldn't need to open hotmail login/password Form. Is there any way to do
so. I want to add other popular email providers like yahoo mail to this
facility as well.
regards
Babur Mansoor
