To date I've experienced no issues with having both environments
installed on my development system.

That's not strictly true. I have no problem debugging 'classic' ASP
pages in the .NET environment when necessary. I have found, however,
some issues with trying to have both debugging environments peacefully
coexist on the same machine (VS6 and .NET EA).

Ed, you have no problem at all developing/debugging with Interdev?

AFAIK, you cannot debug ASP pages within VS.NET; VS.NET has no support
for
'classic' ASP, so that wouldn't be suprising.

However, there are no issues with having previous versions of Visual
Studio
installed on your machine at the same time as VS.NET - I still use
InterDev
for my ASP work on the same machine as VS.NET Enterprise Architect.
