I am writing a web interface for an existing Unix tool.  However, the tool 
configuration file is locate on Unix(AFS) Disk space.  The configuration 
file is a ascii text containing hash table for generating the user 
interface.

is there a way read text file on Unix system without relying Windows drive 
letter, CGI or Perl script?

Please kindly point the way if there were articles written on this.
