I am having troubled creating a new ASP.net web application under Windows
.NET Enterprise Server RC2. When I click the ASP.net Web Application
template, I get an error message Web access failed. Unable to create web
project "WebApplication1". The file path 'D:\IISHome\WebApplication1' does
not correspond to the URL 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. The two need
to map to the same server location. HTTP Error 404: Not Found.
It then prompts to retry using a different file share path
Location:
Windows .Net Enterprise Server RC2 uses IIS 6.0. I have double checked to
make sure that my web server root physical location is D:\IISHome and that
the web server is running. I am not sure if I need specific permissions set
in the web server to allow the WebApplication to open.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Arghh!!!
I'm going to get hold of either Win XP Professional or Win 2K as XP Home is
very annoying in its refusal to allow you to install a web server. Yes you
can install both .NET and VS.NET, but doing anything ASP.NET related is very
difficult.
What you can do is install ASP.NET Web Matrix too and use the web server
that comes with that. I have been using a combination of that and connecting
to my work PC with IIS on it. However, XP Home won't allow you to logon to a
windows NT domain and so I don't have any write permissions on my work
machine from my laptop.
Grrrr
