Thats a heartening reply. My server sits on a 100mbps
lan, if i execute the exe from my machine, i dont have
any problem. The moment i execute from a browser, i.e.
the executable having been deployed on the webserver,
the db connection takes a long time to open. I have
configured my machine to fully trust the url from
where this exe is launched (using caspol.exe). 

Even as i launched this drive to slowly move web apps
being devloped to forms, i jus cudnt believe this cud
be a problem. But there it is.... Wud be pleased if u
cud provide any more inputs. 

I mean what :
1. configuration at the web server end or 
2. i shud contact the lan domain server admin or 
3. fine tune the security policy at the server or
client end.

changes cud solve the problem, comparing it to the way
u are running the smart client.
