No no no.

What you want to do is go here:

http://www.buraks.com/asv/index.html

download the action script viewer and you can then open every single flash
files ever produced, look at the action script and then save it to an
external file:


What you get:
Script text for Movie Clips, Frames and Buttons
All Frame Labels
All Instance Names
Preview and extract Movie Clips
List of symbols in library and preview most types
Preview of Frames
Movie information (version,dimensions,etc.)

If the swf file is import protected you can't do anything since I know.
But normaly you can import it in a new project. The only nasty thing
is, that you will loose every layer. Flash plants it like frame by frame.
