There is actually a way to do this. I could find the code again if you
like. I had a web page that did this but no longer use it. I did not see a
real use for it.

Oops, I meant to add as a postscript, occasionally you will see printer
icons and buttons on web pages, these are NOT print buttons, these are
buttons which link you to printer friendly versions of these pages, e.g. on
4guysfromrolla.com you see this,and then you can print the page yourself.
