html_code_clinic thread: Need some clarifications about the file extensions.
I believe that .html is from the *nix world, whereas the .htm is an MS
issue as DOS would only accept 8.3 filename conventions. I believe that
most systems will accept either name.

There is no difference. Html and Htm as file extensions will save a
page as an HTML file. Just as .txt as a file extension will save a page
as a text file. I believe some older browsers took and still take .htm,
but as far as how they are saved there is no difference.
