Dear Jamal,
    Do you have the code in the body tag? In my experience with my students,
there are two common reasons for the background not appearaing:
1. you have the proper code but don't have the background image file in the
correct directory
2. you may have misspelled the name of the background image file.

Check these out. If neither of these are the problem, send me the code.
