html_code_clinic thread: Text on an image

Well, I did do that, but it looked like you were plugging your own product,
and a beta version of it at that, which is not something I'd want to deliver
to a client, so I thought I'd get you to explain to the group. From a couple
of minutes looking at the site, I couldn't find a clear explanation of what
PHP is and does, just that the next pre-release version was available. Hence
the question.
