A quick word of advice, stick to the web safe palette of colours.
Otherwise, not all users will see the same colour that you want them too.
The difference might be only slight or it might make your site look
terrible.
A quick test is to change the colour settings on your own pc, especially
to 256 colours, and see what your candidates look like then. Now just
imagine all the other permutations that your users might have sitting on
their desk.
