interdev_programming thread: Value of Interdev vs other editors

Short of not being able to directly access the SQL database, you can pass
along sql strings to do anything through ASP and you would be able anything
you would normally be able to do via command line from the Query Analyzer of
Enterprise Manager, it would be a little more cumbersome but still workable.

Right okay, but a 30 day eval copy of SQL Server 2000 would
not work on Windows 2000 Professional (I've checked). Only
Server and above. A Developer edition does, but I do not know
what features that has under ver 7.0 and the Microsoft site doesn't
seem to list this version when searched.

Cut down by present information as things stand at the moment.

Is there any other way of accessing the SQL db to configure
the tables etc, without using SQL Enterprise Manager
and i.e. a copy of SQL? I would imagine that is the exact
reason there is a Developer edition of SQL with more limited
functionality, but as I say, I cannot establish what functions
that does offer and it's out of stock everywhere & my deadline
is too soon to wait.
