I know that you can highlight the project in the Project Explorer, go to 
the Project menu, choose Property Pages and the view teh Master web SErver 
tab to learn what it is currently pointing to.

I know that doesn't help much... but at least you can review the 
information to be sure you are working in the correct project once you end 
up with multiples.

I would start a new project... easy enough I would think.
