interdev_programming thread: Re: New User - Beginning Web Development with Visual Interdev

Is your problem resolved? May be you gave up. If so, consider there is
light at the end of the tunnel. I posted the exact same problem, but
titled:
"can't save the changes to navbars as explained in the book."
2 days back. Bob Brothers helped me out with a clear solution. You may
want to see the problem posted by me and its resolution. If you still have
problems, give the exact details and post it back here.

> Good people,
Please Help. I have been battling through Beginning Visual Interdev and are
up to ch 6. Battling is a polite description. Sometimes things would work,
sometimes they would not work. I have deleted pages and projects and
restarted them determined to make it work Finally I have deleted everything
(with the word 'Wrox" in its name and restarted completely. Now I think I
have pinned down the problem.
Sometimes Interdev does not save my work.
Take for example p75, item 11, adding the children property to the second
"PageNavBar" control. Closing the form will not ask if I want to save my
changes. Clicking the diskette icon or "file|save Default.htm" seems to
save
but when I reload the form the changes are not saved. I can get click "get
local copy", "release local copy", but I can't make the changes permanent.
Reloading Visual Studio does not make any difference either.
The results are that I cant get the contact us and the search icons to
appear, I have written all over my book, and I have made terrible comments
about Mr Wrox. There are several incidents where exercises will not work
correctly, and I believe it is because my changes are not being saved.
