Thanks everyone,

innerText and innerHTML seem to be the only way of printing out the 
information on the page. The only downside is that it doesn't work on 
Netscape 4.

Anyway, all I wanted was to assign the names and values to variables so 
that I can preform some generic data validation. And I guess I could have 
done that from the start, as long as my output was on alerts.
