javascript thread: Creating COM objects in JavaScript...
You can use the ActiveXObject function to create an instance of a com object
in javascript
e.g.
var oXML = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
but don't expect this to work in Netscape!
The older tried and tested method is to put an OBJECT tag in your HTML and
refer to the object by its ID.
You can search the archives by looking at any list on http://p2p.wrox.com

Subject: [javascript] Creating COM objects in JavaScript...
Hello,
I want to utilize COM objects in my Java Script both
on client side as well as on Server side.
How can I do that? In the VB Script its through
CreateObject using the progid....but I could not
understand how can I do that using Java Script that
seems to be more like C++ and Java.
Do we have some archive for previous posts where I can
search and see if this topic was discussed in the
past?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Paul
