Well, Alex...
I do understand your point and the ohters (inkl. Greg), BUT i do NOT believe
that
it is NECESSARY for anybody to exactly know what Nato is doing. If he his up
to
something "BAD" then it's his problem, not yours, mine or anybody else.
What i am trying to say is that this group is for helping people to answer
questions
about solving programming problems (at least i hope so...). If someone do
want to
close the X-button, it doesn't concern anybody what the guy is doing.. Who
says
that it is for bad reason? Maybe he want the user to close the window by
using his
Close button and not the X-button... even if I, you or others think that it
is bad
programming.. well we can point that out, but i do not think that it is
correct to
judge someone or make someone to explain herself before he/she can get some
help.
Anyway, to Noto.. I do believe that Greg did not meant any harm. He was
trying
to explain a reason why it should not be possible becaus of security
reason...
Regards
/ Ali

I don't think Greg meant any insult by what he wrote...
I believe what he as trying to put across to you was that if the group
knew what your aim was in stopping the user from clicking the X button, then
perhaps the group could help find a close alternative, as stopping the user
from clicking the X button altogether is pretty much impossible through
javascript.
As Greg correctly stated, the X button is part of the client operating
system, not the browser document or website.
Cheers,
Al.
